A book that made me cry...

Hello everyone!
So today, I was in one of my classes, and I finished taking a test. I had forgotten my book at home ('cuz I'm dumb like that) and had to go digging in my backpack for reading material. As I dug I found A Child Called It.

My sister (well, my honorary sister... she's one of my best friends and she acts like my sister, so that's what I call her) had lent to me the book, since it's one of her favorites. Really intense books like that aren't really my speed, but I couldn't find my book, so my only choice was to plop myself down in my (insanely uncomfortable) desk. I started to read it, and by the first chapter, I was hooked. I read most of it in the forty minutes I had to myself. I had to skip a few parts, because I didn't want to break down into a bundle of sobs in the middle of a very quiet classroom, but the other parts really had me tearing up too. I left that classroom a mess, sniffly and stomach-aching. I just thought that a child going through that complete and utter torture by him own mother! The book is an account of Dave Pelzer's own account of abuse forced upon him by his mother and family members, who 'mother' had brainwashed to think the same as she did of David.
After reading the book,  I came home today and thanked my own awesome and loving mother for being awesome and loving. This book really opened my eyes to what I take for granted, and believe me, the blessings I have been gifted will never be taken for granted again.
I highly recommend this book, not because it is an enjoyable read for a cozy Saturday, but because it is something everyone should have knowledge of. If you haven't already, please pick up this book and read it. It will give you a completely different perspective of life and make you appreciate your blessings so much more!
